IT'S A BOY!

To any untrained eye but the mother's this will probably look like the contents of a lava lamp, but if you look closely you'll see the handsome profile of our son. Isn't he the most adorable thing in the world?

Raising a son is going to pose some challenges I did not anticipate with a girl. For instance, how to help him become a self-confident, intelligent, sensitive man without turning him into a "sissy mamma's boy" (as my husband so delicately puts it)? How to quell my urge to dress anything that cute in frilly pink ruffles? And what to do when he inevitably comes home wanting to buy sports paraphernalia?

Questions for the ages, my friends.

Oh my goodness! I have the cutest sweet-potatoe-sized nephew ever!!!

Are you sure he won't like any of the frilly pink things I've already purchased? Guess I'll start buying baby footballs...

I'm so excited for you guys!

Love you
Jenn

Yay! A boy! Boys are good too! It's ok, when I was prego with Anthony I went to Tahiti with a friend and was so confident that I was having a girl I bought a bunch of skirts and tropical tank tops. Well I gave all those outfits to Olivia because I wasn't about to make Anthony wear them. Yeah, boys are fun! Get ready for Pokemon! Congrats!

Congratulations! I am so excited for you both. I will have to say that I have often pondered the same thing. How to make him that ruggedly sensitive type without going overboard in the "sissy" department. Jake and I decided that if we have a boy he will get signed up for baseball and tap class!
